Seisan

13 Hands form. It is a Goju kata, also called Seishan - one of the oldest kata still being practiced today.

This kata can be traced back to the southern Shaolin (Shorei) Temple. It was created along with other kata, such as Niseishi and Useishi, by Zhang Zhuanyi to help maintain good health, to momorise defensive applications and continuous attacking positions, and also to relate techniques to vital points.

Sokon Matsumura brought the kata back from China.
